Inbound potential member
Hello and good day to everyone.
I will be moving to the Quad Cities this summer and I am veryr interested in becoming a member of the 501st and contributing to the team.
I have over a decade of experience in historical reenacting where a lot of the time, you have to fabricate your own kit to be historically accurate.
Hopefully you have room either for a Imperial Officer Impression or a Sith Acolyte/Darth Nihilus under the expanded universe.
I don't know what I don't know, so any advice and comments are welcome.
I have registered under the Imperial Officer Corps detachment, and will for the Flagship Eclipse.
I am looking forward to talking and exchanging ideas with everyone.

Big Pappa,
thanks much.
I am putting things together.
I am hoping that by the time I get to IL, I will at least have a line officer impression squared away.

One suggestion I can give on the line officer is to source your boots first then your uniform. It seems boots are always harder to find.

Welcome! It looks like you are getting yourself started in the right directions. There is always room for more troopers of all kinds! One thing you want to consider with Darth Nihilus is whether or not there is another one in your area. I don't know the answer to that. With face characters, there is only room for 1 at each event, so you might have to share duties. Your non face character costumes can have as many of each as you'd like per event. Just something to think about. Keep us appraised of your progress, and we'll hopefully see you trooping soon.

Re: Inbound potential member
You guys are correct in that sourcing boots are the biggest challenge. I already have to return one set of boots that were too narrow.
Hopefully the next set of English Riding Boots will fit my feet and and come up just under the knees. I've never gone cheap on footwear. When I have, I have regretted it.
I am working on the imperial officer impression first. Once I get into the grove of things, I figure I can go from there on a face character, or look into another generic impression that also adds/helps out the group.
I should have a line officer impression assembled and approved before I move to the Mid-West Garrison AOR (my goal at least).

TK 1692,
thanks!
Ok..I am making progress. I have a decent set of all leather english riding boots now.
Dosimeter, Belt, and Rank Bars from recommended crafts folks on the IOC boards. (Bought from where BJ Savage buys from)
Tunic and pants look good to go. Hat is to specs but does not match the tunic and pants so I am going to get a hand made one with some extra fabric I have. I think I could certified at least a level one right now, but I want the hat to match.
I am hesitant on any sith/dark side impression with the EU up for grabs based on media reports concerning Episode VII.
Does the 501st have any guide or position on the matter?
