Just another update of sorts, an ex-co worker of my wife's is friends with the lady who set Max's fundraiser up, and she asked her to get in touch with me and see if anyone would be able to show for the memorial service tomorrow night. I have already gotten my shift covered a work and planned on attending, so if anyone else would like to come and pay their respects, the information is in the family's journal.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do they want us in armor? It seems a very solemn occasion for it, however he loved SW so much, I just don't know.

I did receive a call from Janet (my contact from the fundraiser/fun-fair) and they are once again requesting our presence at Max's "Life Celebration" that will be held after his funeral on Wednesday, July 8th.

Please see the following thread for details:

I was hoping for some good news, but instead I'm sitting here with some tears. I'm just glad that I was one of the ones that got to make Max's day special. I will definetly try to come on Wenesday.

Max will be sorely missed,

it was one of my very first troops and so many of us were there. He was very much full of life and was so happy.

After this weekend, many of us complained about aches, pains, trooper tracks etc. This news makes that all pale in comparison.

I will be more than happy to attend both functions for max. It means a lot to me to be a part of both. I will try to make tuesday night, but I will definitly be there on Wednesday.

There are tears being shed as I believe this was a very personal event for many of us.

But like James said, this is why we are here. This is why we dress up and endure so much so that others, like Max will have something to think about and enjoy when they are having their bad days.

Now that max is in a better place, I have no doubt that he is still thinking of us, lightsaber in hand, relieving the experiance.

My prayers go to Him and His family.

Uh, FYI. -

Leanne and David (Max's parents) don't know that we are coming on Wednesday. It is a big surprise (from what I'm being told).

Let's make sure it is a surprise they would welcome at such a time.

Trust me...This is not something we decided on our own. This is at the request of their good friends/neighbors. The Life Celebration "party" after the service is exactly that....a Party. The journal from his parents requests for everyone to bring their children...

"Please bring your children-there will be plenty of Legos, SpongeBob, and food for all!"

I was leary as well until I saw that in the journal from Max's Dad.

As long as we have been invited to be there, I'm good. You got me worried when you said they didn't know. I have some coloring books I can bring. I can print more at school, since this semester I won't be needing my quota.

I know its an old thread...

But I was thinking about this family today and had to say a prayer for them. This event touched me in so many ways. It really changed the way I am with my costume and why I costume.

Thank you Lil dude. You live on in our hearts.

as noted by Jim Tampa..
it is now almost a year since we met Vincent...

my encounters with Isaac, Max and Vincent changed my perspective on trooping also..
