Chicago Comic Con 2010 - Silent Auction Death Star!

Postby bassclarinets » Fri Aug 13, 2010 6:41 am

During Chicago Comic Con (fka Wizard World Chicago) 2010, the Midwest Garrison will be auctioning a garden gazing globe for charity.

In their support of the mission of the American Cancer Society and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the Midwest Garrison will be having the winning bid go to the 501st & Rebel Legion United fundraising group of walkers which includes many Midwest Garrison Members. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/Makin ... r_id=28096

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s premier event to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer. More than 145 Making Strides walks nationwide each year celebrate people who have battled breast cancer, educate people about ways to reduce their risk, and empower communities to join the fight. The noncompetitive walks range in distance from 3 to 5 miles. The money raised through the Making Strides walks helps the American Cancer Society to create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays.

It will be on display at the Midwest Garrison’s booth at Chicago Comic Con this year (2010), and will be auctioned via a silent auction (clipboard held at the table). Bidding will open at the beginning of Chicago Comic Con, and will end at noon on Sunday. Because of the size (approx 10 inch ball) and because it is a fragile item, shipping will not be an option and the winner will have to arrange to pick up the Death Star on Sunday (or pre-arrange another way to pick it up). The winner will also have to fill out a donation form (with donation) for MSABC's 501st & Rebel Legion United team at pick up.

The stand will NOT be included in the auction.
