IL/IN "Allegiance" book release Jan 30, 2007

Post by badmommy »

Timothy Zahn's latest SW book, Allegiance was recently released to the public on Jan. 30th. Members from the 501st Legion joined the release at participating Borders Book Stores.

The Borders in Naperville, IL had never witnessed the 501st and were stunned to see the characters of the book walking around the store. After an eventful evening, the store made it a point to ask the MWG to return for future SW book releases.

Members who attended the IL store:
BH5202 - Mary Walton - event coordinator (non-costume)
BH9397 - Augie Webster - Boba Fett
Eric Schneider - Han solo (Rebel Legion)
TK9989 - Kathy van Beuningen - stormtrooper
TD1043 - Chris Rhoads - sandtrooper
TS1296 - Joseph Flores - snowtrooper
SL1719 - Jason Patterson - Darth Vader

Across the border in IN, members of the MWG and Bloodfin trooped the Borders Books in Highland. This was the sixth book release that the 501st have participated at this store and the excitement was still there.

Members who attended the IN store:
BH3620 - Rudy Grasha - Boba Fett
TK 2390 - Bryon Mesarch - Stormtrooper
SL 1781 - Rich Markle - Vader
TS4071 - Joe Macudzinski - Snowtrooper
TS 0280 - Dan Powers - Snowtrooper
TK 2632 - Scott Hicks - Stormtrooper
TK 9052 - Stephanie Hicks- Noncostumed support
TK1951 - Phyllis Shulte - Rebel Fleet trooper(AKA Rebel scum)

Chris Rhoades wrote up the event. His article can be found at

Actually, I left all of the children's names off the list ( the IN event had 2 children participate). I did not know how parents felt about having their children's names posted on a public forum.

That makes sense. I do not mind Alyssa's name being posted, but I can see how some parents might object.
