At the last Chicago Worldcon, my ex-roommate decided he would go as Cobra Commander- in black, with the hood, not a helmet. I warned him that his version would look to most people more like a white supremacist than a Joe action figure. I suggested that he only wear it in con areas for his own safety.<br><br> What happened? Well, the girl who was going to come as the Baroness bailed and didn't show (I thought she would make both costumes more recognizable as a pair). And my friend put on the hood and whipped out his gun for a photo op in the hotel lobby as soon as he arrived. Needless to say, security jumped on him and ejected him from the site, costing him a Chicon membership and his resin V-blaster.<br><br> He never thought it would go down this way. Sometimes I hate being right. You can't always save people from themselves. <p></p><i></i>
