Tron costume help.

Post by TK3446 »

Nic at legoland sent me this email. If anyone can help him out please email him directly.

Neil,

I write to you on a personal matter. A couple of us here in the office are huge Tron fans and are pretty serious about creating a legitimate Tron costume. I thought you would be the guy to ask on where I should go, what I should look for, and any tips for this endeavor. Let me know your advice when you have a free moment. Thanks Neil!

Eric- Can you email Nic this and help him? I know nothing about Tron stuff. I saw the first movie back in the day and that's it.

The stuff on RPF is pretty hit or miss. There's 1-2 good costumes, and the rest look like poop.

So far the best stuff I have seen is athttp://www.udreplicas.com/all-products/tron-legacy/ The suits don't light up, but they have the rest of the armor covered pretty well. My idea was to get one of those as a base and modify it with EL tape to create a pretty accurate movie costume. Someday.

Rob is dead on with that link.

I was looking at that too. Best bet for Tron costumes right now, and looking at the price, it isn't too bad either especially when you compare it to our costumes.

It's hard to know how deep they want to get into making one.

Good point Eric. But seeing as these people may or may not put the time in. Well, the option is at least there. But you do make a valid point sir.

If he's talking about the original Tron costumes, I could help with that. I'm working on one myself and the helmet is complete already...
