In an effort to assist the IHC with their technology fund by raising money for it, we posed for countless photos from 11AM until approximately 3:30PM. After the canister was collected and counted by the Treasurer of the IHC, we raised almost $30. Hey, something's better than nothing at all, right? The kids were really excited to see us! After almost 5 hours in armor with only a lunch break snuck in there (thanks to my wife for buying the food and water!), we had to call it quits. There weren't a whole lot of kids in the vendor area, which is where we were, so we decided to stop early. There were plenty of other vendors who had already packed up and left at that point, too (the convention officially ended at 6PM). However, we did receive one complaint from an attendee that her kids really wanted to see the Star Wars characters, but they had workshops until 4:20PM and were really bummed that we had left before our scheduled stopping time of 6PM. I did explain to her that while we do try to honor our time commitments, that we are volunteers and that she can come see us at several events coming up, including the Joliet Public Library event.
A great event, in any case and we did what we do best . . . bringing joy and happiness to kids of all ages.
