IL-Orland Park-Connor's Birthday Party-3/6/2010
A friend of mine saw my trooping pics on FaceBook and wanted to know if it would be possible to have a few troops attend his sons birthday party.
I told him it wouldn't be a problem. We can work something out.
By 6:45,all available troopers were secretly gathered on the street in front of Connor's house. We geared up in the garage and were ready to rock by 7:30.
We made our entrance to the Star Wars theme music and quickly took control of the party. The kids were extremely surprised to see several Imperials and a Rebel pilot step through the door. From what I'm told, they were absolutely floored when Vader quickly followed. The kids eventually noticed the lowly Tusken lurking in the background.
Connor was presented with a choice of gifts from the Midwest Garrison. He chose a Clone Commander Stone figure.R2-D2 and a couple of Jawa figs were awarded as prizes to the winners of several games of hot thermal detonator.
The kids were then gathered together for a group photo with Legion members. Two stormtrooper helmets were supplied for the kids to try on and take pictures in.
Bags of tats and candy were handed out to all, then we attempted to make our exit accompanied by more Star Wars music.Somehow, several of the troops wound up dancing with the kids. The Tusken took this opportunity to raid the kitchen for some goodies.AGAIN!
We eventually made our way back to the garage, geared down and enjoyed some liquid refreshments provided to us by Connor's dad.At this time we were presented with a check for $150 payable to the St. Jude's Childrens Foundation.
Troops on hand for this event were:
TK1951 Phyllis Schulte
SL1781 Rich Markle
ID3052 Steve Szyndrowski
TI4026 Cherri Krzyzowski
DZ4438 Ed Krzyzowski
TK 6312 Pat Engle
X-Wing Pilot crix
Lotta orbs in these photos!!!
Did you bring a few friends Steve???
More pics here.

Thank you Ed for a really nice event and a great time.
Those kids were so well behaved and a joy!
Please say thank you to our host for his generous donation to St. Jude's Children's Foundation for our appearance at the party.
I am in the process of uploading the photos that Cynthia took for me...
(lol...make sure to add Cynthia as support...she did a GREAT job!)
My web service is "migrating" and things are pretty messed up right now.
Thanks again!

4026 and myself hung around to BS with Neal and his wife. We've been friends for a long time. All the kids enjoyed us and the adults were really impressed with the costumes.Nothing but positive feedback.
BTW,you guys missed out on some darn good Italian beef and pasta.
Thanks to all the troops that made this such a good time.

Yep...
I wore TK...
As per my policy...if the Event Co-ordinator requests me to wear a specific costume...
I honor their wishes..
and
Ed asked for TK...
besides...
I figured that I would at least be taller than most of the kids at the party...
note though in the second photo how Ed had to bend waaaaaaaaaay down to communicate with me...
Pat's photos.

If i may say, it's always good to see you in armor phyllis. I know it's your least favorite but still it's great to see it
