Weathering Workshop 2-21-10
Another winter storm played havoc with plans for the weathering workshop that I hosted at my house on Sunday 2-21-10. Impending doom of another 10 inches of snow forced several members to re-evaluate being on the road to Mokena if the worst hit.
The workshop was held as planned but with a slightly smaller crowd.
The Han Solo blaster shown above was the result of some of the playing around with techniques that we used.
Ed Krzyzowski was our lone instructor and he showed us some application techniques with model paint and an old sock. We also learned about dry brushing. I tried a "wash" technique on the grip of another blaster and then I brought out a tube of silver leaf that I had purchased for my Endor donut. Ed found that he REALLY liked the way that stuff worked and found it to be a lot of fun to work with also. We also learned that less is more...
I would like to thank our brave souls for coming out:
4438 Ed Krzyzowski
3052 Steve Szyndrowski
