The Coal City Library troop proved to be a wonderful chance for a few members of the 501st and Rebel Legion to open up and talk candidly with the public on what our organization is all about. The day started off at 1 pm when Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, Obi-Wan, and an Endor Commando entered the Coal City Library's conference room which was already filled with eager fans of all ages. The Endor Commando, Ashley, gave a brief description of the 501st and Rebel Legion before opening it up for questions. The four fielded questions for an hour or so ranging from costumes represented by the groups to their own personal Star Wars preferences. After questions, the members posed for pictures with fans and helped present the Coal City Food pantry with a monetary donation of $200 from the library. The troopers were allowed to return to their own galaxy at 2:30 but were informed that heir services would be called upon again in the future. The troop was a fantastic opportunity to help the public understand that we are not payed performers but craftsmen and women who volunteer to share our passion and time for the benefit of our communities.

Awesome job....
I so wanted to make this ...and ...know that I was NOT having a good time at our Resource Management volunteer meeting yesterday..it was a very frustrating day.
The program you guys did sounded awesome....and kudos to the Coal City Library for giving you guys time to field questions! And also kudos on the donation to the food pantry! Nicely done...
any photos?
