Discovery Legoland Troop June 23-26 2011

Post by TK3446 »

Well we had another successfull troop at Legoland in Schaumburg IL. It was a long 4 day troop and everyone had a great time. The Legoland folks did a great job with having a lot of activities for the kids to do for the SW weekend. A big thanks to Nic B, Joe D, Kerry the intern for getting whatever we needed (pizza's and water) and allowing our families to join us and have fun. Sounds like this event will happen every 6 months so rest up your feet fellow troopers. Thanks to all the Troopers that came out for this. A special thank you to Kevin S. and Rob H. for trooping all 4 days. Another thank you to Eric S. for trooping 3 of the 4 days. I know my feet were killing me by end of day two and I'm pretty sure Kevin's, Rob's, and Eric's were too. We also had two first time rookies troop this event Dan M. and Steve G. Both did a great job. Legoland also raised over $800 Merlin’s Magic Wand, their company’s charity organization (http://www.merlinsmagicwand.org) from the build they had on the second floor and donation bin. If anyone has pictures of this event please post them here. Mine will come soon.

Neil..
another tall order...
can you "guestimate" the amount of hours spent trooping this event over the course of the days it ran?

Was it really that much?

I guess I know why my feet hurt after those 4 days...
Many bothans died to bring you this post...the tearing of ligaments and almost the loss of a TK's finger...

Well if you do the math it would be 158 hours. That's if everyone trooped the full time from 11-4. But some trooped a a couple hours and some the full. Some even trooped starting at 10 so I just tried to average it all out. Doesn't hurt to be on the higher side.

it's not like the 501st Auditor General will be out to examine my books..

and..
as noted..
we don't have that TK with the time clock mounted to his back piece..
