Il-Batavia/60510 - MSABC Kick off party - Fri 8/24/12

This event was the official fundraising event that kicked off the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program leading up to the official walk on October 14. If I remember right, we had 4 baskets largely made up by Phyllis that contained Star Wars toys from her own collection, and baskets that contained homemade goodies like jams and preserves, another contained a "stay at home and enjoy yourself" basket that contained movies, candies, and other items for and enjoyable night at home. Another basket contained Star Wars toys donated by Kevin Glass and Two hard to find Hallmark Christmas ornaments of R2-D2 and C-3PO. donated by Steve Gaza.
Over 150-200 people attended a little at a time. Although all 4 baskets sold, total earning for the baskets have not been given to Steve Gaza as of 9/5/12 but soon will.

A big thanks to the troopers who represented us

yeah...that is usually the case...

how did the crowd enjoy having you guys there?

They enjoyed it certainly...though the crowd was a little small at times. It was a fun event though for sure!

And...
you two could hold your heads high as you were representing the current leading team in overall fundraising for Fox Valley!

we will probably get passed up in the final days by "Theresa's Trotters" team and a couple others...but none the less....our team is doing a GREAT job that we can be proud of!

We may look "funny" for breast cancer fighters...but we do it in earnest!
