Longbeach Elementary School Family Math and Reading Night
Montgomery, IL
We were invited to participate in Longbeach schools family math and reading night. The school facility gave all the games a Star Wars flare for the evening. This is the school one of my granddaughters attends and who I had picked to recieve some Star Wars books donated from a previous troop. Once the learning center director found out how the books were donated and about us, she couldn't wait to have have us in costume for a school function.
We were asked to be one of the activities in the event, and pose for pictures with the families. After awhile of taking photos, it got a little quite back in our area, so we did like any good trooper would do...we invaded all the other rooms We tried our hand at few activities, and never stopped posing for photos. I think we made the biggest impact when we made our way to the trivia room, and were giving a quick thumbs up or thumbs down signal to the younglings to help them with the really tough questions And, once again, we were accused of being teachers at the school by children. Every school night event I have trooped, We always end up being called some teachers name by half the children there, LOL
After the event was finished, we made our way back to our rooms, suited down, got some water, and called it a night.
Let me give a HUGE thanks to Dave to making the trip out here and being my wing man. Buckets off to you sir
Hours: 2 troopers for 1.5 hours each = 3 hours total
Attendees:
7345, Steve M, TK (EC)
12155, Dave K, TK
No donations, just lots of happy kiddies
Didnt get too many photos, but had a few snapped on my phone, and a couple from my family.
somebody order some TK?
I know for a FACT this one is trouble!
"You call that a smile! I said SMILE!"
As I said we did not receive a donation for our time, however the children and the staff were so happy we were able to come, they did send us their appreciation and many thanks, I was delivered this the next day by my granddaughter.
and from the facility...event though they spelled my name wrong...twice still very cool!
