We arrived at the school while the kids were at lunch and suited up. They gathered the kids in a large room, and had them all sit on the floor. There were about 100 4th, 5th, and 6th graders in the gifted program. They weren't told ahead of time we were coming, so when we entered the room, the excitement on their faces was incredible. I don't know if I'd ever seen so much excitement at any one troop. It reminded me exactly why I do this.
So, we enter the room, and they basically asked us to talk about Star Wars, and answer questions. So we did. The kids were amazing. So engaged, so curious. Some asked silly questions like, "Is there a Taco Bell on the Death Star." Others, really good questions like "Whats the difference between clones and stormtroopers."
At the end of the talk, we posed for pictures with the kids, and suited down.
We were there for about an hour, and made a lot of kids days, I'm pretty sure.
