Great troop! We arrived at the hospital around 9:30 and suited up on the 18th floor in a conference room. We met with the coordinator Julie who was amazing and very helpful throughout the time we were there, went over some details and got to work!
At 10:30 we began walking through the day hospital visiting rooms of kids (and some adults!) who were feeling well enough to have a visit. I made some activity books and we all brought cards and other swag to give to the kids, so as we exited the room, the coordinator Julie would give the kids a pack of stuff.
The whole troop took about 1 hour.
Julie told me that it was up to us if and when we wanted to come back. She explained they don't usually solicit volunteers and entertaining visitors to the hospital. The persons wanting to volunteer usually contact them with the offer to visit, then the hospital approves and schedules it.
So basically we can come back anytime we want!
