A big “Thank You” also goes out to Brandon Grasha as our Jawa for the evening, as well as Rudy Grasha IV as our photographer and costume support!!

This was a very small, but still interesting, event. There was a large auction held by the Museum of Science and Industry at the Columbian Ball back on October 6th that we attended, in which a large Star Wars package was auctioned off that included a private dinner for 12 at MSI (although there only ended up being 10 guests at the dinner). The guest auctioneer, Bill Curtis, thought it would be nice to also throw in a few Star Wars “characters” to be present for the winner’s private dinner. This is where we came in.

We showed up at the Museum early to get ready and waited for the winners to make their entrance around 7:30pm. We had the museum completely to ourselves, which gave us a great opportunity to gaze at all the beautifully decorated Christmas trees that were now placed in the rotunda and surrounding areas.

There was also a table set for 10 in the rotunda that was decorated with fine China and many Star Wars items (strange to hear “fine China” and “Star Wars” together, huh?). Among the Star Wars items at the table were giant PEZ dispensers, MR Lightsabers and a book for each guest that was autographed by the Maker himself, George Lucas.

The guests of the evening arrived by limo at approximately 7:30 and proceeded to take many photos with our group. They seemed to really enjoy it. Then they made their way to the Millennium Falcon “ride”, and eventually made it to the actual Star Wars exhibit. Dinner was served at approximately 8:45, which is when we posed for a few more pictures and made our exit.

A HUGE “Thank You” to all that attended!! You really made it a great evening for everyone!!
