Comments: This year, Fire Up A Cure event regrettably had some competition as a fundraising event the same day as an MDA event at Wrigley Field. So the attendance was down a bit from other years. We kept it a bit simpler this year, just going with our photo backdrop. We were a big hit with the kids again, who loved posing for pictures with us at the backdrop, and everywhere we walked around.
Trooper turnout was superb once again, and the FUAC staff was more than pleased with our presence there. Natalie Bomke from Fox News, who was emcee of the event again, remembered us from last year. We got her to take group pictures with us this year. Troopers attending for the first time received the Fire Up A Cure patch, which I designed last year. I would like to make a yearly rocker to add to those patches, something to consider and investigate.
The total donations raised for the event was $40,051. Greg Howard had an extra, unused Kyberlight Saber he was able to give as a raffle prize to help out too, which was awesome. The Cure It Foundation is more than anxious to have us return for next year’s event. They will be contacting me with the date once it is set. I want to thank everyone again who took the time to attend this year's event. Great troop, well done everyone!
