New for 2007
Welcome to the newly redesigned MidwestGarrison.com! Over the last few months, we have retooled and redesigned the Web site and our forum to reflect our new logo and to keep looking forward. The site has incorporated new features and revamped some old stand-bys. As the new design gets smoothed out, some glitches and bugs may appear. These will be dealt with over time. posted by Rome

On a suggestion by MWG member Chris Spice (TD-7306), a link to the complete Garrison listing for the 501st has been added to the features column on the right. If you're looking for troopers in other parts of the country and the world, the Garrison listing is a great place to start. Thanks for the idea, Chris! posted by Rome

The Festival of Trees, Wisconsin Style
Members of the MWG living in Wisconsin recently participated in the 17th annual Sheboygan County Festival of Trees. Held at the Sheboygan Auditorium and Armory December 1st - 3rd, the Festival of Trees offers an elaborate exhibition of decorated Christmas trees that are sold to raise money for local charities. Over the last 16 years, nearly one million dollars has been raised to benefit more than 10 different charities. Robb Roidt, Trent Thornton, and Beth Johnson took on the task of decorating a tree for the auction. They were joined for the 3-day event by ARC Trooper Jason Piekarz, camera man Dan Patterson, and R2-D2. The unmistakeable Star Wars themed tree which included Spud Trooper, Darth Tater, and numerous other Star Wars toys sold for $2,000! Because of this group's efforts, many families will be having a happier holiday season. posted by Rome
